EVA (Denmark)
Accreditation procedures
Existing study programmes
- The educational institutions are responsible for preparing a documentation report for the relevant study programme which describes and documents to which degree they fulfil the criteria.
- Once the expert panels have read the documentation reports, they visit the study programmes and hold meetings with management, teachers, and students. For the programmes in the arts, the panels also meet employers and graduates.
- Then, EVA will prepare the accreditation report in cooperation with the expert panel.
- The accreditation report will be made subject to consultation at the higher education institutions, whose study programmes are subject to accreditation,
- The Accreditation Council makes its accreditation decisions of each individual programme based on the conclusions in the accreditation reports. The Council can give either positive accreditation, conditional positive accreditation or refuse accreditation.
New study programmes
- The Ministry will make an initial screening of the applications received from the Higher Education institutions.
- Against this background, the Minister will decide whether to forward the application to EVA for assessment.
- The institutions are responsible for preparing a documentation report for the relevant study programme which describes and documents the criteria.
- Once the panels have read the documentation reports, EVA will hold a meeting with the expert panel (the expert panels do not visit the study programmes and new provisions).
- Based on the panel meeting, EVA may request supplementary documentation from the institution, and will eventually prepare the accreditation report.
- The accreditation report will be made subject to consultation at the higher education institutions, whose study programme is subject to accreditation.
- The Accreditation Council makes its accreditation decisions of each individual programme based on the conclusions in the accreditation reports. The Council can give either positive accreditation or refuse accreditation.
