Focus of accreditation

Focus of accreditation

The HAC conducts accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs. Its criteria and procedures for evaluating the quality of higher education in Hungary are compatible with European standards.

Consequences of accreditation

The HAC is a body of experts delegated by higher education institutions, employers and students, who make judgments about higher education programs and institutions both before they are established and again every five years. If institutions or programs do not met the pre-set and published quality criteria they may be closed. It is important to note, however, that the HAC supports institutions to improve possible weaknesses and makes suggestions for their enhancement.

Publication Policy

The HAC publishes its institutional and program accreditation reports, which are available on its website www.mab.hu. The HAC also publishes its standards and criteria, in addition to studies and reviews of quality assurance issues, annual reports and other related information.
